The artist project returns for the 13th time
Discover more personal experiences with art
Artist Project attracts collectors and curators, gallery owners, designers, art lovers and first-time art buyers and is proud to create an environment that stimulates enriching conversations and connects art lovers with artists. The gallery-style shopping experience is perfect for discovering your art aesthetics. The expanded program includes interactive installations, live artist competitions and informative, expert-led chats.
Artist Project will be assembled exclusively for this year’s fair Telegenic, a feature area in the heart of the fair, which presents video and VR artworks. Sponsored by EQ Bank, Telegenic enables guests to explore how artists use technology to present their own narratives, realities, and perspectives. Other installations during the fair were also selected for the use of multimedia technology.
The four-day art fair starts with one opening Party Celebrate the city’s art culture with LUXELIFE SOUND music and food and drink from some of Toronto’s best restaurants, caterers, and breweries, including Collective Arts Brewey and Supernova Ballroom.

Other highlights during the fair are::
Art Chats
Presented by Yorkville Village, Art Chats is artist projectLecture series and panel discussions on illuminating and trendy topics of the art and design world through the lens of talented experts. A selection of special guests from different areas of the community will share their knowledge with new perspectives and irreplaceable advice. Art chats are free upon entry.
Art walks
The themed art tours of the fair, Art Walks, offer visitors the opportunity to meet artists, get to know their inspirations and learn how they create their works. The hourly tours take place on Friday-Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Each tour starts at the information desk every hour on the hour.
Unused competition for emerging artists
The Untapped Emerging Artists competition presented by DeSerres is dedicated to supporting the development of students, new graduates and self-taught artists. The juried competition gave 20 aspiring artists the opportunity to exhibit their work in this feature area of the fair free of charge. The program is intended to offer young artists a platform on which they can present their works of art and make connections to the world of contemporary art.
Art battle
Art Battle, a live competition painting in which artists create their best works in three 20-minute rounds, will return for the artist project on Friday, February 21, at 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. While painting, visitors can move around the platform to see how each artist creates their masterpiece. The audience can then vote for their favorite painting and participate in a silent auction to buy the pieces.
Art Lounge Mural in collaboration with Yorkville Murals
Yorkville Murals is proud to present the work of whatisadam, an artist who has been included in the opening edition of his festival. At the Yorkville Murals Festival 2020 in August, artists can get the chance to create a mural that also contains artists and materials! For information on how to participate, see the Yorkville Murals exhibition at Art lounge, The furniture in the Art Lounge is generously provided by Stylegarage.

Star Collectors program
The Star Collectors program of the artist project offers an improved trade fair experience and the opportunity to support independent, up-and-coming artists in building their art collection. By participating in the program, Star Collectors undertake to buy works by artists at the fair. Star Collectors receive:
installations
Artist Project presents seven installations by artists like Tonya Hart and Andre Baynes that will change the way you experience the fair. During the exploration, guests can meet these installation artists and find out about a variety of exciting and current topics.
children programming
Children who participate in the artist project receive an activity page designed by the artist Alyse Nicholson, You can then show off your finished package to take part in a raffle for a DeSerres prize package.
